This project started as an idea to extend the edges of a painting until you can’t see it in its entirety, to make a painting that was both a sum of its parts and a singular entity. Consisting of 33 separate canvases, each 150x120cm in size, Tempo was made during the Autumn of 2020. The final size of the work is 150x3960cm, and is an absurd concept; the journey across it is long enough for you to forget how it started or what came before. To be carried or tangled by the drama of the moment, to wander back and forth, stepping back in time
